Multilateral Affairs

The Federal Office for Migration maintains relations with numerous international governmental or non-governmental organizations (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva; International Organization for Migration in Geneva; European Union in Brussels; United Nations Organization in New York and Geneva; IGC, Inter-Governmental Consultations on Asylum, Refugee and Migration Policies in Geneva; ICMPD, International Center for Migration Policy Development in Vienna; International Institute Of Humanitarian Law in San Remo; Council of Europe in Strasbourg).

The Staff Office International Affairs prepares the positions of the federal office and of Switzerland relating to the domain of migration. Its task also consists in strengthening the collaboration between the federal office and these international organizations in order to facilitate the implementation of the Swiss policy.
