Noncoding DNA
Go to page «DNA analysis»
Deoxyribonucleic acid, DNA, is part of every human nucleic cell. Blood, tissue, saliva, bones, or sperm contain DNA. DNA profiles can be obtained from most bodily samples. Forensic analysis of DNA is made of noncoding DNA, also referred to as the antisense strand. This means that data on genetic information obtained and stored allows no inference on physical or mental characteristics or illnesses (except for Down syndrome)
Identical twins have the same DNA profile and may not be distinguished from each other by DNA analysis but by comparing fingerprints, because these are unique in each human being.
