Execution of Sentences and Measures Unit

This Unit handles the implementation of the Federal Contributions to the Execution of Sentences and Measures Act (Bundesgesetz über die Leistungen des Bundes für Straf- und Massnahmenvollzug). It provides grants and subsidies for the construction, renovation and expansion of institutions in which adults, young adults (institutions for educational work training), children and juveniles (educational homes) can serve their sentences. It also contributes to the operating costs of educational work training institutions and educational homes on the basis of certain qualification criteria. Furthermore, the Unit supports the Swiss Prison Staff Training Centre and pilot projects relating the execution of sentences and measures and juvenile support. The Unit publishes regularly a bulletin containing information on its particular field of operation.
