Federally designated laboratories and doctors assigned by such laboratories are bound by Article 12 of the Ordinance on DNA Profiling for Civilian and Administrative Purposes DNAPO to verify the identity of the person to be examined. The following information has to be reported:
- surname
- first name
- date of birth
- address
- place of origin(for Swiss citizens only)/place of birth/nationality
- photo upon taking the DNA sample
- signature
Persons subject to DNA testing are required to produce identity papers containing their photo. This identification has to be photocopied by the laboratory staff or the respective doctor. Infants and babies may be exempted from producing official ID.
