The workplace is crucial for integration. This is where immigrants learn about the ins and outs of daily life, which rules apply and what is expected of them.
There is a great deal employers can do to help their foreign employees integrate successfully. This is a win-win situation; the company also benefits, since immigrants who find their bearing in Switzerland feel comfortable and motivated to work. Employers play a particularly important role in the integration of displaced people, who are interested in completing an apprenticeship or finding a permanent job.
