Switzerland will receive approximately 50 million euros to support national projects aimed at improving the security and efficiency of border controls. These funds are distributed to several offices, such as the federal police, the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM), and the authorities responsible for the borders of international airports (Zurich Cantonal Police and the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security).
Call for Projects
Within the framework of the BMVI, calls for projects are issued throughout the 2021-2027 programming period. Project promoters are invited to respond to calls for projects launched by the SEM as the managing authority. There are also separate calls for projects stemming from the thematic facility established by the European Commission to support specific actions. When these are valid for Switzerland, they are then transferred by the managing authority to the BMVI monitoring committee.
