Bilateral migration dialogue is a process allowing for regular exchange of migration-related information between two countries. As such, it is a fundamental tool of Switzerland’s migration foreign policy.
Bilateral dialogues on migration differ in intensity, frequency and organisational level. They may be held as a meeting of experts to implement an agreement or as institutionalised migration dialogue between two countries.
Switzerland currently pursues such dialogue with some 30 countries, including, for example, China, India and Mongolia.
