Ordering or revoking the duty to provide data
Under Article 104 paragraph 5 FNIA, orders imposing or revoking the duty to provide data take the form of a general ruling and are published in the Official Federal Gazette. The order is published in advance and without any statement of grounds in the Official Federal Gazette and at the same time made available for inspection at SEM and on its website. The air carriers concerned are given a deadline within which to file any objections to the planned extension or restriction of the duty.
Article 104 paragraph 5 FNIA
SEM updates this page regularly to provide the latest information on plans to extend or restrict the duty to provide data.
Planned or ongoing procedures to impose or revoke the duty to provide data
In 2024, the SEM will not expand the duty to provide data to other departure destinations.
Technical information for the Transmission of API data
Passenger data for flights covered by the duty to provide data is transmitted via SITA Type B. This transmission option is described in the API interface specification. It provides binding instructions on how to create the required infrastructures. A prior test phase may be requested.
Violation of the duty to provide data
Under Art. 122b FNIA, administrative law sanctions may be imposed on air carriers that fail to transmit data in time, or that transmit data that is incomplete or in accurate.
