METAS-EMN TraceLabMed Workshop on the future ofnucleic acid metrology
Rapid, reliable nucleic acid analyses are increasingly important for large-scale medical decisions, as is illustrated by the current Covid 19 pandemic. Rigorously designed, commutable reference materials and -procedures can help to alleviate the situation when used as common anchor points.
The workshop aims at reducing perceived barriers between the respective fields: It highlights benefits as well as limitations of metrological traceability in the context of the multitude of measurement challenges as e.g. emerging from the use of nucleic acids as diagnostic markers. It provides an ideal platform for personal and informal interaction between IVD industry and metrology partners.
